Lake Tahoe and Kayaking
Lake Tahoe, one of the most beautiful places in Northern California, attracts about 20 million tourists annually according to Tahoe Fund, and rightly so. The reason for this massive inflow of tourists is that Lake Tahoe has three things most tourists usually crave for; beautiful weather, breathtaking scenery and super exciting activities. And of the many water sports activities at the lake, Kayaking is one of the most popular.

It pains me that some tourists who go through the kayaking experience of the lake leave with big smiles plastered on their faces while others, never get to feel any impact. From experience, I know that the simple difference between these two categories of tourists is that the first category is always lucky to find the best places to kayak in Lake Tahoe, while the rest aren’t always that lucky. It is for this reason that I decided to dedicate this article by pointing out the best kayaking spots on the lake.
Of the many spots on the shores of the lake, Emerald Bay is probably one of the most popular. Its popularity is due to many factors which include a large parking spot, kayak rentals, beautiful scenery, and the fact that paddling from this end is not very stressful. The weather at Emerald Bay is usually friendly for kayaking, and the sun reflects perfectly on the glassy water to make the view a picturesque one.
A bonus that usually comes with kayaking on the lake from Emerald Bay is that you can take a break at the beautiful Baldwin Beach.
One thing that makes Kiva Beach an outstanding place to kayak is the view of the tall and scintillating mountains, such as Mount Tallac, which surround this part of Lake Tahoe. Kayaking on the lake from this beach is always preferred by many because the water currents at this end, makes the job quite easy. An extra thing that comes with kayaking on this beach is that you can get to explore Taylor Creek while at the beach.
Located in the southern part of the region is Lakeview Commons. The lake is easily reached from this place as it is where Highway 50 and the lake meet. Kayaking gears can be rented at Lakeview Commons as you prepare to embark on this relaxing and enticing journey on the beautiful lake.
With the view of fascinating flora around and the fauna in the sky above, Lakeview Commons makes itself one of the best kayaking spots on the shores of the lake. Also, watching the lake reflect the golden rays from the sun during sunset at the Lakeview Commons, will leave you ecstatic till the sun completely disappears behind the lake.
